The The Field Guide to Birds of North America is a fifth edition paperback book that is extremely comprehensive. This book by Jon L. Dunn,and Jonathan Alderfer covers many different bird species and  types,not just the Birds of North America.It includes some very rare birds from places like the Western Aleutians Islands of Alaska and the Dry Tortugas of Florida. Even though this book is fairly large you should be able to manage using it in the field.

The last book that I will mention here is The Golden Field Guide, which is a guide to identifying Birds in North America in the field. This book was written by Chandler S. Robbins and is a paperback book. While it is the least expensive of bird reference books it is a very good book to buy as all the Birds in North America are covered here. The best things about this field guide are the range maps, bird descriptions and bird photos that are shown clearly.

The Audubon Backyard Birdwatcher: Bird Feeders and Bird Gardens by Robert Burton, Stephen w. Kress, and National Audubon Society. This bird book covers how to create a backyard bird sanctuary,using feeding and gardening,in including flowers Hummingbirds love for a true bird habitat.
